Treehouses for Kids

Growing up, my friends and I each summer would work on putting a huge treehouse together. We had a wooded area right next to our house, so each summer we would wake up early in the morning and get hard to work on putting together our version of a customized treehouse.

The treehouses we built were impressive seeing how they were done by kids and without adult supervision. My parents worked hard during the summer and so didn’t really have time to help us with the treehouses we built. But I will tell that treehouses for kids is a great way for them to keep busy and learn what it takes to create something that they can enjoy for a long time.

Of course, you can always buy a premade treehouse for your kids, but really, what’s the fun in that? So, here are a few words of advice and help for those looking for a starting point.

The first thing you must do is find out if you a suitable tree that can handle a treehouse. Use your own judgment and make sure that the tree is high enough, branches are thick enough, and there is enough room for a treehouse in the tree.

You are going to need some basic materials. Hammer and nails of course will be required. You will need a saw, maybe a hacksaw, and screws, and possible a drill.

You can find plans online, create your own plans, or hire someone to create your plans. Your children’s safety is as stake here so if you don’t really know what you are doing make sure you have help from someone who does. If you are going to buy the plans to create the treehouses for kids, make sure the plans are from a trusted source. Look for reviews and ratings about the plans and don’t be afraid to ask or email them if you have any questions.

Your kids will certainly appreciate the treehouse more if and only if you involve them in the building process. Show them the plans and have them help you with the materials and building. When it is completed, they will enjoy the finished product even more. It will also teach them the rewards of hard work and how it pays off. Not only that but it will give you a great chance for you to really bond with your kids and you will probably end up enjoying just as much if not more so than they do.

This is going to take time to complete, so make sure that you will have the time and dedication to complete the project before you even get started. To learn more about outdoor play equipment, you can visit
